Senior Mainframe Performance Analyst - Compensation to the mid $100s

An industry leader in Ohio is looking for an experienced professional to develop and maintain mainframe capacity/performance systems, databases, and reports which will be used to analyze current and projected resource utilization. This person will have a minimum of ten years of systems programming experience with specific concentration in performance management for large, multi-processor, multi-LPAR, Parallel Sysplex environments. Expert level knowledge of WLM and Parallel Sysplex Coupling Facility are required to update/tune using internal change processes. This person will also act as technical advisor to applications teams in the areas of batch tuning, VSAM, VSAM/RLS and JCL. Experience with SAS coding, SMF/RMF record structures, and TMON performance monitors are highly desirable. Additional plusses include HMC, GDPS, REXX, and Assembler. Senior z/OS Systems Programmer - Northern Virginia

An immediate need exists for an experienced z/OS systems programmer to support a government client in Northern Virginia. Qualified candidates must have experience supporting recent z/OS Sysplex environments (z/OS 2.x preferred). Experience with Sysplex configuration, Unix Systems Services (USS), DB2, Comm Server (VTAM, TCP/IP), IODF, or HCD is a plus. Responsibilities will include OS and ISV installation and maintenance, so in-depth experience with SMP/E is a must. z/VM-z/Linux 1099 Contract - Mid-Atlantic Region

An immediate need exists for an experienced consultant to support a proof of concept for IBM's zPDT software, which enables mainframe development on x86 platforms. Additional future support work may include a major z/VM-z/Linux implementation project. Scope of work includes: gathering technical details from client SMEs on the z/OS, z/VM, z/Linux, and USS environments and production workloads; performing analysis of SMF and OMEGAMON data; providing analysis and recommendations for improving measurement methods and/or tools; and making recommendations for improving productivity and reducing problems in the environment. Qualified candidates will have experience troubleshooting complex issues as well as installation of z/OS, z/VM, and/or z/Linux operating systems and associated software. Prior zPDT experience is a definite plus. Essential professional skills include excellent oral and written communication skills; strong time management skills; and the ability to work in a collaborative environment with a motivated team. This is a 1099 corp-to-corp contract with duration of approximately nine months with possible extensions. Competitive hourly rate.
