Mainframe Systems Programmer - Work from Home

Ever wanted to have your own mainframe to play with? Our very stable client has a unique opportunity for a z/OS generalist with five or more years of mainframe systems programming experience in a z/OS environment. Qualified applicants will have good z/OS systems fundamentals that include solid SMP/E installation and maintenance experience and superior troubleshooting skills (IPCS). Qualified applicants will also have systems support expertise in at least three or more of the following areas: z/OS, CICS, IMS, Db2, Comm Server (VTAM, TCP/IP), MQ, or mainframe storage administration (DFSMS). Experience with HCD, Workload Manager (WLM), exit coding, REXX, Endevor, or Linux systems administration is a big plus. This is a smaller shop where you'll be required to wear a lot of hats. Senior Systems Programmer - z/OS Troubleshooting Specialist

A Maryland-based financial company has a long term contract opportunity for a z/OS generalist who is well versed in SMP/E product installations and has strong problem analysis/resolution skills. This position is currently remote support only due to recent distancing requirements, but once lifted the position requires full time on-site support. The current environment consists of multiple CECs across a five-LPAR SYSPLEX. Experience with storage management (DFSMS) and hardware configuration (HMC) are definite plusses. Familiarity with z/OS Performance issues including WLM is also highly desirable. This is a 1099 corp-to-corp or possible W2 opportunity with a competitive rate. Manager/Lead Systems Programmer - Long Term Contract Opportunity

Our client has an immediate need for a z/OS systems programmer to provide project management, technical guidance, and hands-on support for a z/OS 2.3 environment at a Maryland government agency. In addition to people and project management skills, this position requires: experience installing and maintaining systems software using SMP/E; DFSMS storage administration; and knowledge of UNIX System Services (USS). Qualified candidates will have hands on general z/OS experience in a technical lead or management role. Other plusses include ACF2 configuration and management, Disaster Recovery planning and testing, experience with IBM 7760 virtual tape systems, and experience using PDSMAN, EZYEDIT, and Syncsort. Initially this position will be remote support, but will revert to full time, on-site support once the need for social distancing ends. Contract Systems Programmer - Washington, DC Area

A Federal government agency in the DC area has an immediate need for a senior z/OS systems programmer to perform installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance for of a key government agency's System Z environment. Requirements include: 15 + years of experience supporting z/OS and associated program products; a strong background in problem analysis and resolution in a complex environment; and experience with z/OS and tools installation, customizations, upgrades, and maintenance utilizing SMP/E. Knowledge of CA tools including CA-Top Secret, CA-1 Tape Management System, CA-Common Service, CA Auditor, and CA-Scheduler, as well as Crypto Processor with ICSF is highly desired. Experience with TS77xx Virtual Tape, Catalog Recovery Plus, storage administration using SMS/HSM and FDR is also a definite plus. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this person will begin providing support remotely. Support will remain remote until deemed safe to return to work at the office location in DC, at which time remote support will no longer be an option. All applicants must be able to pass a Minimum Background Investigation. Preference will be given to candidates with existing clearances. z/OS Systems Programmer - Work from Home

An established mainframe technology company needs a z/OS systems programmer with strong SMP/E, troubleshooting, and scripting (automation) skills. Qualified applicants will have a recent background in MVS support that includes product installs and a solid REXX coding background (or other scripting language). Expertise with z/VM, z/Linux, z/OS Communication Server (SNA, TCP/IP), application testing, or security administration (RACF, ACF2, TSS) is a big plus. z/OS Systems Programmer - Pennsylvania End User

An established Pennsylvania mainframe shop has an immediate need for an experienced generalist to join a small systems programming team supporting z/OS and its subsystems. Responsibilities will include OS and ISV product installation and maintenance (SMP/E), performance tuning, and systems-level problem resolution. The ideal candidate will also have exposure to DFSMS-managed storage support. Knowledge of Db2, CICS, or Comm Server (VTAM, TCP/IP) is a definite plus. z/OS Automation Specialist - Possible Telecommute

Our Washington, DC area client is seeking a long-term contractor to automate and control a large, complex mainframe environment, including monitoring its health and well being. Qualified applicants will be familiar with various automation tools and scripting languages such as REXX, Tivoli NetView, System Automation for z/OS (SA z/OS), or CA OPS/MVS. This position will also require systems programmer level knowledge of z/OS and its various subsystems such as Db2, CICS, WebSphere, JES2, and TSO.
