Senior z/OS-z/VM Systems Programmer - Mid-Atlantic Region

Our mid-Atlantic area client needs to add an experienced systems programmer to support their rapidly growing state-of-the-art mainframe environment. This technician will be responsible for all aspects of z/OS and z/VM support, including operating system-related installation, maintenance and troubleshooting. In addition to experience supporting native z/OS or z/VM as a z/OS host, qualified candidates will have experience developing REXX scripts; adding hardware (HCD); and providing network configuration (OSAD, ICC, FICON). Experience with encryption/decryption of data using SKLM, EKM or TKLM is a definite plus. A strong background in Disaster Recovery planning and testing is also highly desirable. U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance are required. Superior interpersonal skills are essential as this person will have extensive customer interaction. DB2 Systems Programmer - Lucrative Compensation Package

z/VM-z/Linux 1099 Contract - Mid-Atlantic Region

An immediate need exists for an experienced consultant to support a proof of concept for IBM's zPDT software, which enables mainframe development on x86 platforms. Additional future support work may include a major z/VM-z/Linux implementation project. Scope of work includes: gathering technical details from client SMEs on the z/OS, z/VM, z/Linux, and USS environments and production workloads; performing analysis of SMF and OMEGAMON data; providing analysis and recommendations for improving measurement methods and/or tools; and making recommendations for improving productivity and reducing problems in the environment. Qualified candidates will have experience troubleshooting complex issues as well as installation of z/OS, z/VM, and/or z/Linux operating systems and associated software. Prior zPDT experience is a definite plus. Essential professional skills include excellent oral and written communication skills; strong time management skills; and the ability to work in a collaborative environment with a motivated team. This is a 1099 corp-to-corp contract with duration of approximately nine months with possible extensions. Competitive hourly rate. Sr. CICS/MQSeries Contractor (1099) - Washington, DC Area

A DC area firm, convenient to the Metro, seeks a mainframe systems programmer to assist with installation and support of CICS/TS and WebSphere MQ (MQSeries) in a complex z/OS environment. The ideal applicant will have an expert CICS installation and troubleshooting background and competent skills supporting MQ on the mainframe (the reverse combination will also be considered). Preferred experience includes z/OS systems support, DBMS experience (DB2 a big plus), REXX coding, VSAM file management and support, and process automation.
