Mainframe Systems Programmer - Work from Home

Ever wanted to have your own mainframe to play with? Our very stable client has a unique opportunity for a z/OS generalist with five or more years of mainframe systems programming experience in a z/OS environment. Qualified applicants will have good z/OS systems fundamentals that include solid SMP/E installation and maintenance experience and superior troubleshooting skills (IPCS). Qualified applicants will also have systems support expertise in at least three or more of the following areas: z/OS, CICS, IMS, Db2, Comm Server (VTAM, TCP/IP), MQ, or mainframe storage administration (DFSMS). Experience with HCD, Workload Manager (WLM), exit coding, REXX, Endevor, or Linux systems administration is a big plus. This is a smaller shop where you'll be required to wear a lot of hats. Mainframe Storage Administrator - Choice of Work Locations

A growing end-user, with two data centers in the DC area, has an immediate need for an experienced Storage Engineer to support its mainframe-based storage infrastructure. This person will be the primary SME for all DASD-related activity and mentoring. Qualified applicants will have a minimum of five years experience provisioning, deploying, and maintaining DFSMS-managed storage environments. This person must skilled at coding and maintaining ACS routines, supporting offsite disaster recovery tests, assessing workload trends, and troubleshooting storage-related problems and performance issues. Experience with products such as CA-1, DFSMShsm, DFSMSdss, OAM, FDR and GDPS/XRC is also required. Relocation assistance can be provided. Senior Systems Programmer - z/OS Troubleshooting Specialist

A Maryland-based financial company has a long term contract opportunity for a z/OS generalist who is well versed in SMP/E product installations and has strong problem analysis/resolution skills. This position is currently remote support only due to recent distancing requirements, but once lifted the position requires full time on-site support. The current environment consists of multiple CECs across a five-LPAR SYSPLEX. Experience with storage management (DFSMS) and hardware configuration (HMC) are definite plusses. Familiarity with z/OS Performance issues including WLM is also highly desirable. This is a 1099 corp-to-corp or possible W2 opportunity with a competitive rate. Manager/Lead Systems Programmer - Long Term Contract Opportunity

Our client has an immediate need for a z/OS systems programmer to provide project management, technical guidance, and hands-on support for a z/OS 2.3 environment at a Maryland government agency. In addition to people and project management skills, this position requires: experience installing and maintaining systems software using SMP/E; DFSMS storage administration; and knowledge of UNIX System Services (USS). Qualified candidates will have hands on general z/OS experience in a technical lead or management role. Other plusses include ACF2 configuration and management, Disaster Recovery planning and testing, experience with IBM 7760 virtual tape systems, and experience using PDSMAN, EZYEDIT, and Syncsort. Initially this position will be remote support, but will revert to full time, on-site support once the need for social distancing ends. Contract Systems Programmer - Washington, DC Area

A Federal government agency in the DC area has an immediate need for a senior z/OS systems programmer to perform installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance for of a key government agency's System Z environment. Requirements include: 15 + years of experience supporting z/OS and associated program products; a strong background in problem analysis and resolution in a complex environment; and experience with z/OS and tools installation, customizations, upgrades, and maintenance utilizing SMP/E. Knowledge of CA tools including CA-Top Secret, CA-1 Tape Management System, CA-Common Service, CA Auditor, and CA-Scheduler, as well as Crypto Processor with ICSF is highly desired. Experience with TS77xx Virtual Tape, Catalog Recovery Plus, storage administration using SMS/HSM and FDR is also a definite plus. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this person will begin providing support remotely. Support will remain remote until deemed safe to return to work at the office location in DC, at which time remote support will no longer be an option. Sr. Db2 Systems Programmer - Long Term 1099 or W-2 Contract

An immediate need exists at a Washington, DC area government agency for an experienced Db2 Systems Programmer. Primary responsibilities will include the installation, maintenance and support of a Db2 v11 production environment and its migration to Db2 v12. Qualified candidates should have experience in the installation and support of Db2 v10 or above as well as exposure to Db2 tools such as Log Analyzer, SQL Performance Analyzer, OPTIM query workload tuner, and BMC's suite of tools for Db2. Additional experience in general support of z/OS operating systems as well as associated program products is highly desired. An East coast software vendor seeks an experienced manager to oversee a team of 8 to 10 people talented developers and support reps. Duties will include keeping products up-to-date with the latest OS changes and management of all product development and release activities with accountability for product quality and on-time delivery within budget. This person will be a key individual in the design and development of new features and releases for an acclaimed z/OS product line. Qualified applicants will have in-depth experience with MVS supervisor services, access registers, cross memory services, and data management facilities. Exceptional troubleshooting skills are also required, which should include heavy SVC dump analysis (IPCS) and GTF traces. Experience with Db2, IMS, CICS, COBOL, or LE is a big plus. Sr. CICS/MQSeries Contractor (1099) - Washington, DC Area

A DC area firm, convenient to the Metro, seeks a mainframe systems programmer to assist with installation and support of CICS/TS and WebSphere MQ (MQSeries) in a complex z/OS environment. The ideal applicant will have an expert CICS installation and troubleshooting background and competent skills supporting MQ on the mainframe (the reverse combination will also be considered). Preferred experience includes z/OS systems support, DBMS experience (Db2 a big plus), REXX coding, VSAM file management and support, and process automation. Exposure to WebSphere distributed-based transaction systems is highly desirable. This is a 1099 contract position with a generous hourly rate.
