Mainframe Systems Programmer - Work from Home

Our mainframe-committed client is looking for an experienced Mainframe Systems Programmer with a broad z/OS background. Qualified applicants will have a strong but general background in large-scale/high availability mainframe systems skills that preferably include good networking and/or DB2 expertise (installation, customiization, troubleshooting). A strong background in Comm Server (VTAM, TCP/IP, TN3270) installation and support is a big plus. Experience with general z/OS systems programming and systems-level troubleshooting skills are highly desirable. Expertise with hardware configuration (HCD/HCM), database support (especially DB2), or mainframe security/auditing would be particularly useful. Salary to the low $100s with a full suite of company benefits.

Principle DB2 DBA - Salary to the $120s+

A Midwest-based end user has an immediate need for an expert level mainframe DB2 DBA. This person will be responsible for supporting the organization's DB2 databases and ensuring its performance, availability, scalability, and security. Qualified applicants will be experienced in the administration, support, and management of the database technology as well as possess an ability to assist in providing strategic direction for a team of four Senior DBAs. Experience supporting a large data sharing DB2 environment is required. Specific duties will include: database design (logical and physical); development and administration of large scale OLTP databases; SQL performance tuning and load testing support; and optimization of DB2 resource utilization by tuning queries, recommending indexes, and configuring database parameters. Familiarity with IBM's suite of DB2 tools such as IDAA, IDAA Bulk Loader, CDC Replication, Query Monitor, and Omegamon is highly desirable. Experience with REXX scripting and Stored Procedures is a plus. This position requires a minimum of 10 years of DB2 database administration as well as current support for DB2 v11 or v12. Sr. DB2 Systems Programmer - Greater NYC area

An exceptional opportunity exists for an experienced DB2 systems programmer to join a very stable end user in the NYC metropolitan area. This person will be responsible for all aspects of systems programming support for DB2 and its associated products. Experience in the installation, migration, and configuration of DB2 is essential. Prior experience with MainView, File-AID/DB2, and/or db2admin tool is highly desired. Other plusses include: experience with QMF and WebSphere Replication Server and knowledge of CICS and IMS. Although non-local candidates will be considered, no relocation assistance is available. Compensation includes a base salary to $120K and a full suite of health and retirement benefits.
