Mainframe Systems Programmer with DB2 - Generous Base Salary Potential

Due to a retirement, a New England end user has a great opportunity for a mainframe systems programmer with one or more years of DB2 exposure. This person will be responsible for a wide variety of z/OS-related systems support duties, including installation, maintenance, and support of DB2 and DB2 specific OEM products. Qualified applicants will have solid general systems programming skills which should include SMP/E experience. This person will be responsible for assisting or leading the upgrade from DB2 v11 to v12. Other desirable skills include experience with (or exposure to) WebSphere (WAS, WMQ), Disaster/Recovery, REXX automation, storage management, or WLM. This is a small shop where you can learn a lot of new things. Starting base salary potential goes well into the six-figures.

DB2 Systems Programmer - Lucrative Compensation Package

A very employee-friendly end user in the mid-Atlantic area has a great opportunity for an experienced DB2 systems programmer. This person will be responsible for all aspects of DB2 support including installation, maintenance, configuration, performance/tuning, troubleshooting, and installation of DB2-related OEM products. All applicants must have an extensive background in systems programming support for a large DB2 environment with previous DB2 installation experience and expert knowledge of SMP/E. This person will be responsible for completing the upgrade a DB2 Data Sharing/Parallel Sysplexed environment from v10 to v11. Additional duties will include subsystem backup and recovery, DB2 tuning for optimum performance, and troubleshooting systems and applications-related DB2 problems. Other desirable skills include exposure to DB2 Connect, USS, Coupling Facilities, IDAA, CICS, DB2-DDF, DB2 buffer pools, and DB2 security issues.
