Comm Server Systems Programmer - Long Term 1099 or W2 Contract

Our client is looking for an experienced z/OS network systems programmer for its Nebraska-based data center. This is a three year minimum contract with likely extensions well into the future. Qualified applicants will have a strong background in large-scale/high availability mainframe networking in a z/OS environment with excellent diagnostic/problem determination and network tuning skills. A strong background in Comm Server (VTAM, TCP/IP, FTP/SFTP, TN3270, SNMP) installation (SMP/E), customization, and support is an absolute must. Other pluses include experience with OSA configuration, Enterprise Extender, and use of socket APIs. This is an onsite position only. Hourly rate commensurate with experience.

Senior CICS Systems Programmer - Three Year Minimum Contract

Our central U.S. client is looking for an experienced CICS contractor to maintain and enhance CICS/TS 5.1 and its related CICS monitors and debugging tools. This person must have solid mainframe systems programming skills that include systems programming support for CICS Transaction Server v4 or above. Excellent CICS systems and application-level troubleshooting is also a must. This is a three year minimum 1099 or W2 contract with likely extensions well into the future. z/VM-z/Linux 1099 Contract - Mid-Atlantic Region

An immediate need exists for an experienced consultant to support a proof of concept for IBM's zPDT software, which enables mainframe development on x86 platforms. Additional future support work may include a major z/VM-z/Linux implementation project. Scope of work includes: gathering technical details from client SMEs on the z/OS, z/VM, z/Linux, and USS environments and production workloads; performing analysis of SMF and OMEGAMON data; providing analysis and recommendations for improving measurement methods and/or tools; and making recommendations for improving productivity and reducing problems in the environment. Qualified candidates will have experience troubleshooting complex issues as well as installation of z/OS, z/VM, and/or z/Linux operating systems and associated software. Prior zPDT experience is a definite plus. Essential professional skills include excellent oral and written communication skills; strong time management skills; and the ability to work in a collaborative environment with a motivated team. This is a 1099 corp-to-corp contract with duration of approximately nine months with possible extensions. Competitive hourly rate. All candidates must be able to pass a basic Public Trust Clearance background check.

Sr. CICS/MQSeries Contractor (1099) - Washington, DC Area

A DC area firm, convenient to the Metro, seeks a mainframe systems programmer to assist with installation and support of CICS/TS and WebSphere MQ (MQSeries) in a complex z/OS environment. The ideal applicant will have an expert CICS installation and troubleshooting background and competent skills supporting MQ on the mainframe (the reverse combination will also be considered). Preferred experience includes z/OS systems support, DBMS experience (DB2 a big plus), REXX coding, VSAM file management and support, and process automation. Exposure to WebSphere distributed-based transaction systems is highly desirable. This is a 1099 contract position with a generous hourly rate. There is also the eventual possibility of becoming a full-time employee. No out of the DC area telecommuters.
