Senior CICS Systems Programmer - Baltimore Area

A Baltimore area end user has a great opportunity for an experienced CICS systems programmer. This person will be responsible for all aspects of CICS Transaction Server support including installation, maintenance, configuration, performance/tuning, troubleshooting, and installation of CICS/TS, CICS Transaction Gateway, and CICS-related OEM products such as TMON/CICS and SYSBII using SMP/E and zOSMF. Desired knowledge and skills include an understanding of CICS internals, debugging and problem solving in complex environments, and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Strong interpersonal skills are also required. This person will be the primary person responsible for the 2020 upgrade of CICS/TS from v5.2 to v5.4. Salary + bonus + comprehensive benefits = an exceptional six-figure compensation package.

Sr. CICS/MQSeries Contractor (1099) - Washington, DC Area

A DC area firm, convenient to the Metro, seeks a mainframe systems programmer to assist with installation and support of CICS/TS and WebSphere MQ (MQSeries) in a complex z/OS environment. The ideal applicant will have an expert CICS installation and troubleshooting background and competent skills supporting MQ on the mainframe (the reverse combination will also be considered). Preferred experience includes z/OS systems support, DBMS experience (DB2 a big plus), REXX coding, VSAM file management and support, and process automation. Exposure to WebSphere distributed-based transaction systems is highly desirable. This is a 1099 contract position with a generous hourly rate. There is also the eventual possibility of becoming a full-time employee. No out of the DC area telecommuters.
